Does the Nassau County District Attorney's Office offer any community programs?

Yes, the Nassau County District Attorney's Office offers a variety of programs to communities throughout Nassau County. The Office partners with educators, parents and children of all ages to raise awareness about drunk and reckless driving through our Choices and Consequences program; staying safe on the internet with our S.T.O.P. Then Send seminars; and makes staff available as guest speakers for career days and other school events. Our Office of Community Affairs manages a range of community forums, coalitions, and the Nassau County Heroin Prevention Task Force. We are also one of the only District Attorney's Offices in the state to participate as a local sponsor of the New York State Sheriffs' Association Operation SAFE CHILD, which provides parents with identification cards to help identify children and bring them home safely when they go missing. NCDA's Office of Immigrant Affairs helps Nassau County's immigrant or foreign-born population navigate the criminal justice system and provides support to limited-English speakers who may be witnesses or victims of crimes.
